It's been dry, which is good for field work, but we also need the grass to grow. Summer thunderstorms are starting to come along and last Friday I got a buggy with fertilizer from AGRI-AFC and Jeffrey spread it. These buggies are nice because they have hydraulic control to turn the spreading mechanism on and off from the tractor cab.
Fertilizer spread on the front, middle, east-bahia and west-bahia fields. Fertilizer gate set at 1, recommended 2. Spreadwidth rated for 40 feet, we did about 2 tractor width separation between passes, which is about 20 feet. Jeffrey covered all those fields and had enough to cover all but the middle field in a perpendicular crossing pattern. Now we would like more rain.
