Lumber rack is finally ready for use. Wood treatment of the rack itself is complete. Treated 2x4 blocks are under the posts and shims installed to accommodate the uneven concrete floor. Diagonal braces are installed along the left side and back, but not at the front so as to not impede the loading of lumber. The result is a frame that is solid with no front to back movement, but a bit of sideways shimmy at the front.
To eliminate this shimmy, I installed a short wall perpendicular to the barn end-wall and framed in a beam from that wall over to the lumber rack. It is now immobile in all directions, ready to be loaded with lumber. Since the top is decked with 2x material, with the tractor forklift, seldom used material can be loaded up out of the way.
