Hero & Heidi

Hero and Heidi are pretty much bonded, they get horribly upset if separated and cause all sorts of trouble, jumping over cattle panel gates, trying to get back together.  So here they are, together again and they will probably stay that way.

To Pasture

Each morning I bring the ewe lambs out to pasture for the day.  Here, they pause to play on the erosion control hay bales. 

Zeus often leads the way, although sometimes he pauses to check smells.   He is the guardian of this flock against coyotes, vultures and other predators.  He stays with them most of the time.

Here they are on the East Bahia field and the oats that were planted into bahiagrass sod in the fall.  The oats have been slow growing with the sod competition, but Jeffrey's recent fertilizer application gave them a boost.
