Deworming Lambs

We dewormed, weighed and sorted the lambs into ram and ewe flocks today.  Jackie is checking the lamb eye color and Joy is recording the data on the computer. 

Feeding Hay

We roll out an entire hay bale so all the sheep can eat all together.  For these 200 ewes, I give them a bale every other day so that they clean up most of it.  During rain or really cold weather, they get 1 a day.

New Generator

Our new PTO generator is finally making electricity.   We bought it in late December to avoid new year price increases.  It can generate 22KW and eventually I will get the plugs and wire set up on the transfer switch on the house so we can plug it in directly and power most of the house.

The delay in getting it going was finding time to put the lift attachment together and setting up the PTO shaft.   I had to cut that shorter to fit the Fiat tractor.   That I did this morning and I am glad to see it working.
